It Started Because Nothing Like It Existed…
Founded by Dr. Alduan and Mecca Tartt, Michelle and Dewayne Gainey, they had been married long enough to know two things. That a good marriage takes deliberate work. And that almost nobody combines curated experience with that work.
There were conferences. There were counseling weekends. There were resorts. What there was not was a place where married couples could do all of it at once: sit in an honest conversation in the morning, laugh through dinner at night, and be surrounded by other couples who understood exactly why both of those things mattered

The Journey
So they built it. The first A Weekend For Love brought together a small group of couples who were tired of being told that marriage was hard and wanted to be reminded that it could also be good with the right resources. 9 years later the retreat has grown, the cities have changed, and the room has filled with couples from Atlanta, Houston, Detroit, Los Angeles, New Orleans, and everywhere in between.
What has not changed is the premise. A thriving marriage does not just change your life. It shapes your legacy, your family, and the world your love touches.
About MICHELLE + DEWAYNE GAINEY
Michelle and Dewayne Gainey reside in Atlanta with their 3 beautiful children. Being married for over 26 years they understand in the journey of marriage it takes the right resources and community to grow and foster a relationship that thrives.
MICHELLE GAINEY
Michelle is the founder and creative director of Lemiga Events, an award winning luxury event design and production company, and the mind behind every detail of the weekend. She has spent her career building experiences that make people feel something, and she brings that same standard to the retreat: if it is on the schedule, it is there on purpose.
DEWAYNE GAINEY
With over 25 years experience in the lighting/electrical field, Dewayne is the founder of Green Facilities, an energy services firm. Green Facilities primarily contracts in the Government and Commercial sectors managing small to multi million dollar projects. Dewayne co hosts the weekend and anchors the men's conversations. He brings the kind of honesty that gives other husbands permission also be honest, which is why the Lion's Den has become one of the most protected parts of the retreat.
About Dr. Alduan and Mecca Tartt
Mecca and Dr. Alduan Tartt are your couple on the go juggling family, business, and work life balance while maintaining a happy/healthy marriage. With a college student, third grader, baby boy and blended family they truly see the importance of putting first things first, your marriage.
DR. ALDUAN TARTT
Dr. Tartt is a psychologist, minister, speaker, media host and author. He serves as the go-to psychology expert for CNN, HLN, The Rickey Smiley Morning Show, Café Mocha, Willie Moore Jr., KD Bowe, Darlene McCoy, The Morning Culture with Frank Ski, Tom Joyner, etc. syndicated radio shows.
MECCA TARTT
Mecca Tartt is in every essence of the word a “girls girl”. Her love of empowering women and creating safe spaces for women to come together has led to her creating events for women focused on Health/Wellness, Relationships, and Motherhood with the launch of her company BESTU LLC. She is the Medical Device Sales Representative with Boston Scientific in Cardiology.
